Blending to Unreal · v1.0.0

LOD tools

Create or preview LOD0–7 data with automatic simplification, proxy geometry, imposters and camera-based screen-size helpers.

Manual LODs

LOD collections are part of every structure from LOD0 through LOD7. You can populate them manually. The active sequence must begin at LOD0 and remain valid; gaps between used LOD levels are rejected by validation.

Auto LOD

The Auto LOD panel lets you select the last LOD collection to generate (1–7) and a target face count for the final generated LOD. Distribution can follow the add-on's preset modes, an editable custom curve, or stored LOD screen sizes.

Delete All LODs is provided as a destructive reset for generated LOD geometry beyond the source setup.

Proxy LOD tools

Bounding Box LOD

Replaces a chosen target LOD with bounding-box proxy geometry.

Convex Hull LOD

Builds a simplified convex-hull replacement with optional remesh/subdivision/inflate/decimate controls in the operator.

Imposter

Creates an imposter at the selected LOD target with configurable texture resolution and optional normal baking.

Delete Imposter

Removes the generated imposter data from the target structure.

Screen-size helper

Export Settings exposes a live LOD Screensize Helper. Start Run LOD Preview to compute the current camera screen size for the selected structure, then write that value into individual LOD rows with Set.

The curve helper can interpolate a range of stored LOD screen sizes between two chosen LOD indices.

Collection Instance LOD

For placement/linked files, Collection Instance LOD can switch an Empty's assigned collection between LOD0–7 according to camera screen size. Create LOD Instance creates a dedicated Empty configured with LOD collection slots.

This is a Blender viewport placement aid. Unreal still receives the asset/placement data through the export and Bridge workflow.
